UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL LANCASHIRE CYPRUS (UCLan Cyprus)

The University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus) is the first Branch Campus of the University of Central Lancashire and at the same time a fully licensed University in Cyprus. UCLan Cyprus is a unique and innovative model of a Cypriot and British University Educational Experience, accredited by the UK Quality Assurance Agency and the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA) respectively. Upon completion of their studies, UCLan Cyprus graduates receive Two Degrees, one from UCLan Cyprus and one from UCLan UK, that are recognised not only in Cyprus and United Kingdom, but also across Europe and beyond.

Built on strong academic foundations, the University of Central Lancashire in the United Kingdom, our mother university counts more than 190 years of history. It is one of the largest and most modern universities in England with its student community listing more than 35,000 students from more than 150 countries. The University was recently (2021) ranked in the Top 3 in the UK in the Hospitality & Tourism management sector (Guardian University Guide 2021), while it is also among the top 6.5% of all worldwide Universities by the Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR) 2020/21.

The UK’s exit from the European Union has undoubtedly caused major changes in several areas, including that of education and, more specifically, higher education. These changes have created a sense of uncertainty and concern to the extent that they require a reconsideration of choices for the future. As of August 1st, 2021, all prospective European students will be classified as international students, which automatically differentiates their cost of studying and staying in the UK, which is particularly high, as well as the need for a student visa.

However, the most important impact is most probably the discontinuation of the British Student Loan which was an essential incentive for many Cypriots to choose the United Kingdom, for both their undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Considering all the implications from Brexit as briefly explained above, the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus is considered a unique opportunity, if not the only wise choice, offering the authentic British University experience, for anyone who wishes to obtain a high-quality British education and degree, Brexit-free. It is worth noting, that the average cost of studying at any university in the United Kingdom is almost three times higher than studying at the British university of Cyprus, the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus.

UCLan Cyprus is the most innovative University in the island of Cyprus, set in a modern, purpose–built campus with state-of-the-art academic and operational facilities. It is ideally located in the coastal region of Larnaca, just 5 minutes away from the city and 15 – 20 minutes away from famous Ayia Napa, 30 minutes from the capital city and 15 minutes from Larnaca International Airport.

The university has triumphed among all the nominations from Europe, Middle East and Africa as the Campus with the most advanced and innovative audio-visual technology. Students learn in meticulously designed lecture theatres as well as specialized labs, such as the first Moot Court Room of the island, the technologically advanced Sports Lab and an innovative Cognition and Development Psychology Lab. The IT infrastructure provides more than 300 software applications and thousands of online resources with all on-line facilities automatically linked with UCLan’s resources and library.

UCLan Cyprus’ brand new student accommodation, «The Student’s Nest», is ideally located within the campus, providing students with a modern, comfortable, and safe environment for a pleasant student life.
