UCA, UNIVERSITY FOR THE CREATIVE ARTS

 

The University for the Creative Arts is a specialist art and design university in the south of England. It has been providing creative education for 160 years and it is the second largest provider of creative arts education in Europe, with approximately 6000 students. UCA’s base is in scenic Surrey and Kent, 1,30 hours away from London by train. It has a total of four campuses located in the towns of Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham and Rochester, together with teaching bases at the Royal School of Needlework and The Maidstone Studios, and a project and exhibition space in Folkestone Creative Quarter.

UCA provides foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate education, while it is well known for its Business School for the Creative Industries in Epsom, which is the first of its kind in the UK. In addition, it has five research centers: Centre for Digital Scholarship, Centre for Sustainable Design, Crafts Study Centre, Fine Art & Photography Research Centre, and International Textile Research Centre.

UCA Canterbury:

Based in a busy, historic student city, Canterbury campus benefits from easy access to local exhibition projects and spaces as part of Kent’s vibrant international art scene. The campus is a short walk from the city center and has a range of purpose-built studios, workshops and lecture theatres. Students can enjoy established community links with places such as the Turner Contemporary Gallery, access to big events like the Folkestone Triennial. The campus is a relaxed and creative environment to study in.

UCA Epsom:

Nearest airport: London Heathrow

The campus in Epsom is a modern, well-equipped collection of studios and facilities set in a picturesque town within easy reach of London. Living and studying at Epsom campus, you will be immersed in a hub of creativity, making the campus the perfect place to let your talent run wild and create the extraordinary. It offers a variety of courses in business management and marketing, specifically aimed at working within the creative industries.

UCA Farnham:

Nearest airport: London Heathrow

Farnham campus has a long history, going back more than 45 years as a respected art and design institution. It is the biggest of all four campuses and has an incredibly strong community feel. The campus is home to the James Hockey and Foyer Galleries, which host a range of exhibitions by visiting artists as well as staff, students and graduates. One of the most successful film courses is based in Farnham campus, which boasts of graduates working on films and franchises such as Star Wars, Harry Potter and James Bond.

UCA Rochester:

Nearest airports: approximately 1- 2 hours to London Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton

Perched high on a hill, Rochester campus enjoys great views over the town and the river Medway. With halls of residence only five minutes away and a range of exceptional facilities, including an art shop, the Zandra Rhodes Gallery and the unique Gerber Suite, Rochester campus offers you a genuinely inspirational study experience. The campus is a creative hub for students studying a rich variety of courses in fashion, photography, product design and digital animation.
