Frederick University is an energetic and vibrant private university operating in the Republic of Cyprus. Although the establishment of the University is relatively recent, the organisation has a long history of more than 40 years in higher education. Frederick University functions from two locations; one in Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus, and another in Limassol, the second largest city and main port of the island. Both campuses provide modern facilities designed to meet the academic, research, social and recreational needs of the University community that, in spite of the growing number of students and faculty, remains focused on the individual, its needs and aspirations.

Students need to strike a balance between their academic and social involvement. The Counseling Center supports students to meet this need through participation in student clubs and societies, which give students the opportunity to participate in many social and cultural activities. Getting involved is a good way for students to meet new friends and make the most of their stay as part of the Frederick University community. Participation in clubs and societies exposes students to new life experiences, helps them develop valuable leadership skills and abilities and provides opportunities for them to express creativity and talent.
The University considers athletics as an integral part of the educational process. It is a member of the Cyprus University Sports Federation and participates each year in the championships organized by the Federation. Some of the teams which participate in the championship of the federation include men’s/ women’s football, basketball, volleyball, handball and more. Furthermore, Frederick University is a member of the IAESTE Cyprus National Committee, which promotes the exchange of students for technical experience. Every practical training usually has duration of 6 – 8 weeks and takes place during the summer vacations. Further to the above, Frederick University, through the Leonardo da Vinci program gives its graduates the opportunity to work in another European country for a period of 2 to 26 weeks. Training can take place in institutes, companies, industries, organizations etc. The program provides all participants with a grant for travel and living expenses.
