FONTYS UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES

The name Fontys was given to this University of Applied Sciences in September 1996. The name derives from the Latin word ‘fons’ which means ‘source’, a source of knowledge for students.

With over 43.998 students and 119 nationalities, Fontys is one of the Netherlands’ largest higher education institutions. The university offers 105 bachelor’s programmes, 22 English, and 12 master’s programmes, of which 10 in English. Its programmes covers a wide range of fields, such as ICT, Engineering, Fine and Performance Arts, Marketing, Business, etc. It also has a strong emphasis on practical hands-on learning. The curriculum is designed to apply to real-world situations directly, preparing students for the practical challenges they may encounter in their future careers.
