Who We Represent

George Mason University

As a Mason student, your educational experience extends outside of the classroom, whether through internships, involvement in student clubs and organizations, research, or study abroad programs. Mason is classified as a Research I university, an honour reserved for universities that produce some of the most noteworthy and significant research in the nation. Students have the opportunity to become involved in university-funded research grants alongside professors who are dedicated to a student’s undergraduate experience and learning. This past year, students have developed research projects in the areas of genetics, cultural studies, communications, access to higher education, global affairs, and politics, among others.

Mason’s prime location in Fairfax, Virginia, just 15 miles outside of Washington, D.C., gives you the best of both worlds. You’ll enjoy living minutes from the nation’s capital, while also feeling safe and right at home at one of the largest and most beautiful residential campuses in Virginia. As the largest university in Virginia, Mason offers all the experiences of a large research institution, yet embodies a community approach as they work closely with their students both inside and outside the classroom. The city becomes your playground – you can intern with National Geographic or the Justice Department, visit museum exhibits with your Art History classmates, explore historic Georgetown and the National Mall, catch a Nationals baseball game, and even attend congressional hearings.

Mason offers over 80 majors, as well as hundreds of concentrations and minors. Check out their list of majors by clicking here. The DC area is consistently ranked as one of the best places in the country to start and build a career, and for Mason students, this begins freshman year when you have the opportunity to develop your skills outside of the classroom through research programs, faculty connections, study abroad, internships, and more. Mason guarantees you an education unlike any other, and with their small-school feel and extensive academic offerings, you’ll be prepared for true success after college.

As the second largest residential campus in Virginia, Mason provides you with a close-knit community and the resources of a larger university, all just minutes outside of Washington, D.C. Talk about an ideal location! With an active and engaged campus community, dedicated professors, and one of the most diverse student bodies in the country, Mason offers a dynamic campus energy and small-school feel. Mason’s state-of-the-art residence halls and student apartments are designed for today’s student, with lounges, WI-FI, and FREE (yes, free) laundry facilities. With swipe card key access and a residence hall advisor on every floor, you’ll always feel safe and right at home. Residence advisors (RAs) are not only an important support system as you transition to college, but they also provide fun activities and events to help you make friends and feel right at home from the minute you step foot on campus.
